meet kelly daughtry 

Kelly Daughtry is a conservative Republican who has over twenty-five years experience serving as a family law attorney in her home of Johnston County, North Carolina. Additionally, Kelly has led complex litigation in state and federal courts in civil law and domestic relations supporting clients throughout North Carolina including Johnston, Harnett, Wake and Sampson Counties. 


Kelly was admitted to practice law before the North Carolina Supreme Court in 1995 and the United States Supreme Court in 2006. She is Board Certified in family law and has tried many complex equitable distribution cases, often involving substantial assets, including ownership interests in valuable real estate, and business entities.

In 2008, Kelly represented local tobacco farmers in a lawsuit against an international Fortune 500 company, alleging that their fertilizer product damaged the farmers' tobacco crop. The case went to trial, and Kelly’s clients were awarded over $1,000,000 in damages by the jury’s verdict.

Best Lawyers Publications rated Kelly as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" in 2020, 2021, and 2022 for her exceptional legal career.

Kelly graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992. Kelly earned her J.D. with honors from UNC Law School in 1995.


Kelly attends a local Methodist church in Clayton and is active in a faith-motivated non-profit that helps girls in high-risk situations through a program of equine therapy and education.
